F/A-18E Super Hornet er et Amerikansk, hangarskip-basert, multirolle jagerfly utviklet fra Boeing F/A-18 Hornet.For å komplementere F/A-18 og erstatte de aldrende Grumman F-14 Tomcat-flyene planla man i US Navy en ny flytype. Man valgte da å utvikle F/A-18E/F Super Hornet som er et større fly og som kan bære større vekt. Flyet ble introdusert i 1999.I motsetning til originalversjonen er ikke F/A-18E/F Super Hornet planlagt skiftet ut, men har derimot tatt over for Grumman F-14 Tomcat, Grumman A-6 Intruder/KA-6D og Lockheed S-3 Viking.I tillegg har man en Super Hornet-versjon for elektronisk krigføring; EA-18G Growler som tar over for EA-6B. Denne flytypen ble operativ i den amerikanske marine 22. september 2009.

The F/A-18E Super Hornet is a building-block model from the film released under the original TOP GUN: Maverick? license. Legendary U.S. Navy pilot and instructor Pete "Maverick" Mitchell trains a new generation of pilots on these jet aircraft. In anticipation of the release of the film, you can now build your own Super Hornet on a model scale of 1:48. The model has been faithfully designed from 555 COBI building blocks. In the set you will find high-quality prints accurately reproducing the original markings of the film aircraft. The model is equipped with a movable canopy and rotating wheels. Under the wings there is a large arsenal of weapons. In the cockpit you can put the special block-pilot. The Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet is a U.S. Navy multi-role aircraft commissioned in the late 1990s as an enlarged and upgraded version of the F/A-18C/D Hornet.
